Living out his passion, Jorge has over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language and Hispanic culture. He has taught students of all ages and backgrounds with many different learning objectives.
He has a B.A. degree with a double major in Psychology and Spanish Literature and a minor in Anthropology from St. John’s University; an M.A. in Hispanic Literature from St. John’s University; and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Spain. Additionally, he has completed many courses in, Philology, Applied Linguistics, and teaching methodology. Jorge has developed an exclusive teaching methodology for Spanish called the Audio-Cognitive method.
Before launching Easy Español in 2004, Jorge taught at the Instituto Cervantes in New York; at Hunter College High School; and at St. Johns University in New York.
He was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador and lives in New York City with his wife and children. Jorge is a U.S citizen and some other passions, besides teaching, include literature, Zen, traveling art, politics, cooking, and gardening.
Patricia has more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. She holds a Master’s Degree in Spanish and Literature from Universidad Central del Ecuador. Patricia has taught students of all ages and backgrounds and her students love her thought-provoking yet compassionate teaching style.
Patricia is the co-author of EspañoldelMundo, a popular textbook to teach Spanish used in many South American Spanish language schools. She has conducted numerous training workshops and seminars on teaching Spanish as a second language.
Patricia is a certified DELE instructor. She has taken on-line professional development courses at the Instituto Cervantes and other institutions.
In her spare time, Patricia enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two young children. She is also interested in literature, traveling, art and social studies.
Agostina Horni is a Sworn Translator graduated from CAECE University (Mar del Plata, Argentina), and she also holds a minor degree in Technical-Scientific Translation. Her primary academic interests include Spanish and English grammar, Spanish and English translation, particularly technical-scientific translation. Agostina has spent the past 12 years tutoring teenagers and adults in both English and Spanish, with a special focus on oral skills and written composition.
In her spare time, Agostina enjoys reading mythology (especially Greek and Roman), classic fiction (Austen, Dickens, and Brontë), as well as fantasy and mystery novels. She is also interested in Japanese music, language and animation, and it’s currently learning French.
Elena holds a B.A. degree in Education Sciences and a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from Universidad Católica in Quito, Ecuador. She is a certified DELE instructor with more than 18 years of experience in teaching Spanish as a second language. Her students refer to her as “the” teacher. She is smart, caring and extremely patient.
Elena loves teaching and has participated in several seminars and courses related to teaching Spanish.
She enjoys learning and practicing cosmetology and obtained the title of Executive Secretary and Expert of Beauty. She loves practicing her training on her family and friends. Some other passions include, reading literature, reciting poetry and debating social issues among friends.
Edith is a seasoned language coach with more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. She holds a degree in Education from Indoamérica University and a specialization in teaching Spanish as a second language from Catholic University in Quito, Ecuador. She has taught students of all ages whose goals range from religion, art, culture and traveling. Edith is also knowledgeable in English and some German. She is patient, flexible yet strict, and she always tries her best to help her students fulfill their language goals.
Edith loves teaching Spanish but she also has a passion for learning new languages. In her spare time, she loves traveling, reading, dancing salsa, playing soccer, and trekking.
Paula Torres teaches Spanish as a second language who graduated from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina. Her academic interests include the study of both English and Spanish grammar, discourse analysis, and pragmatics in both languages. She has participated in various extension projects from her university aimed at teaching Spanish as a second language to Haitian college students as well as research project dedicated to the study of the use of scientific vocabulary in kindergarten classes in the city of Cordoba. She has worked in Cordoba teaching Spanish to adults and providing company training.
In her free time she reads novels and goes to the theater. She also enjoys travelling and learning about different cultures. Other interests include graphic design, gastronomy, and foreign languages.
