Living out his passion, Jorge has over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language and Hispanic culture. He has taught students of all ages and backgrounds with many different learning objectives.
He has a B.A. degree with a double major in Psychology and Spanish Literature and a minor in Anthropology from St. John’s University; an M.A. in Hispanic Literature from St. John’s University; and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Spain. Additionally, he has completed many courses in, Philology, Applied Linguistics, and teaching methodology. Jorge has developed an exclusive teaching methodology for Spanish called the Audio-Cognitive method.
Before launching Easy Español in 2004, Jorge taught at the Instituto Cervantes in New York; at Hunter College High School; and at St. Johns University in New York.
He was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador and lives in New York City with his wife and daughter. Jorge is a U.S citizen and some other passions, besides teaching, include literature, Zen, traveling art, politics, cooking, and gardening.
Patricia has more than 20 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. She holds a Master’s Degree in Spanish and Literature from Universidad Central del Ecuador. Patricia has taught students of all ages and backgrounds and her students love her thought-provoking yet compassionate teaching style.
Patricia is the co-author of EspañoldelMundo, a popular textbook to teach Spanish used in many South American Spanish language schools. She has conducted numerous training workshops and seminars on teaching Spanish as a second language.
Patricia is a certified DELE instructor. She has taken on-line professional development courses at the Instituto Cervantes and other institutions.
In her spare time, Patricia enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two young children. She is also interested in literature, traveling, art and social studies.
Agostina Horni is a Sworn Translator graduated from CAECE University (Mar del Plata, Argentina), and she also holds a minor degree in Technical-Scientific Translation. Her primary academic interests include Spanish and English grammar, Spanish and English translation, particularly technical-scientific translation. Agostina has spent the past 8 years tutoring teenagers and adults in both English and Spanish, with a special focus on oral skills and written composition.
In her spare time, Agostina enjoys reading mythology (especially Greek and Roman), classic fiction (Austen, Dickens, and Brontë), as well as fantasy and mystery novels. She is also interested in Japanese music, language and animation.
Patricia Ochoa has worked as a Spanish teacher for seventeen years. She holds an Accountant A. A. degree from the Universidad Central del Ecuador, and a B. A. in Educational Studies, with a specialization in Spanish as a Second Language, from the Pontífice Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE-I).
Patricia has also attended several seminars and courses related to teaching Spanish as a second language and have tutored students of all ages. She is a patient, supportive and keen teacher and is a certified DELE instructor.
Patricia loves to share her culture and traditions with her students and her hobbies include reading, visiting museums, outdoor activities and spending time with her children.
Adolfo Garcia has been teaching Spanish and English to students in Argentina and the United States for nearly nine years. He has also worked as a freelance professional translator since 2006. For the last three years, he has been researching linguistics and language acquisition development.
Adolfo holds a degree in Technical and Scientific Translation from the Mar del Plata Community College and a B.A. in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) at Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. Additionally, he is engaged in active research in linguistics, pedagogy and translation studies. He also teaches in the language department of CAECE University in Mar del Plata.
Born in Balcarce, Argentina, Adolfo currently lives in Mar del Plata, a beautiful city lying on the southeast coast of Buenos Aires.
Adolfo loves languages, writing and teaching and when he is not working, he pursues his literary and musical passions.
Elena holds a B.A. degree in Education Sciences and a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from Universidad Católica in Quito, Ecuador. She is a certified DELE instructor with more than 18 years of experience in teaching Spanish as a second language. Her students refer to her as “the” teacher. She is smart, caring and extremely patient.
Elena loves teaching and has participated in several seminars and courses related to teaching Spanish.
She enjoys learning and practicing cosmetology and obtained the title of Executive Secretary and Expert of Beauty. She loves practicing her training on her family and friends. Some other passions include, reading literature, reciting poetry and debating social issues among friends.
Edith Ochoa has more than 9 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language. She holds a degree in Education Sciences and a specialization in teaching Spanish as a second language from Universidad Católica in Quito, Ecuador.
Edith is a certified DELE instructor and has designed special projects for the creation and development of didactic materials for teaching Spanish as a second language. Her teaching skills include applying new technologies to language acquisition. She is an easy-going, empathetic and caring teacher.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading historical novels, spending time with friends and listening to music.
Cristóbal Cabezas has more than 16 years of experience teaching Spanish. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador PUCE, as well as a number of course certificates from Instituto Cervantes. He is also the co-author of the Spanish textbook “Conquistando el español” (Conquering Spanish).
Cristóbal is very patient and friendly and likes fiction and classical literature, trekking and visiting National Parks. In his spare time, he is a freelance guide and enjoys cooking and spending time with his children and friends. Cristóbal is fluent in English and is currently writing children’s short stories in Spanish.
