Do I need a particular level to start your program?

No. Whether you are a complete beginner or very proficient, our teachers will deliver lessons suitable for your level. Read More

How many sessions do I need?

It will depend on your language goals, your everyday contact with the language, your learning style and your personality. For a beginning student, we recommend at least 2 sessions a week for 10 to 15 weeks. Research shows that new students need an average of 30 sessions for the brain to recognize a new language. How is my progress monitored?

After each lesson, your language coach writes a session report. Every lesson is carefully designed and monitored by our Academic Director. We keep an eye on your rate of improvement by giving you evaluations at regular intervals. At the end of each program we’ll assess your overall progress. Read More

Why are your sessions only 45 minutes long?

Research shows that there is a higher probability of effective learning taking place if the learning episodes are short and meaningful. We have come to the conclusion that a 45-minute session provides the optimum time for effective learning and retention. Read More

How can I determine which program is best for me?

Do I need to buy books?

Books are not required for your eSpanishLive sessions. Our language coaches prepare lessons using a variety of teaching materials (movies, magazines, songs, paintings, and more). However, we highly recommend that you do purchase the books we use in our program. We’ve found that they are provide helpful guidelines and give students access to another powerful learning tool. Do you offer specialized programs in a specific area, such as law, travel or health?

Do I get a certificate when I complete a level?

Yes. Upon request, eSpanishLive can grant students a certificate indicating the hours studied and the level attained. Read More

Can I get college credits for one of your programs?

You cannot get college credits for any of our programs. However, you could get up to 12 college credits through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), and eSpanishLive can help prepare you to pass this examination. Learn more about CLEP here. Read More

Where do I store my teaching materials and lesson notes?

Once you have enrolled in an eSpanishLive program, you will have access to the eSpanishLive platform. There you have your teaching materials and homework. We also provide you with your own personal space to store your lesson notes, calendar and agenda, so you will have 24-hour access to the materials. Read More

Do I need broadband access to the Internet?

We do recommend a broadband connection. Audio and video communication works very well when both parties have broadband. A faster connection makes it easy to access and download information from the Internet quickly during a lesson, and our interactive classroom works better on broadband. Read More

What software will I need?

You’ll need the eSpanishLive Virtual Classroom Software. The software is free of charge and it is very user-friendly. You will get all the information you need before your sessions begin. Can I study from any computer?

You can access the service from any computer that has access to the Internet. Read More

How does my language coach get in touch with me?

You will get an email reminder before each session, with a password to enter your virtual classroom. Your language coach will call you on your computer to initiate the session. Read More

Can I study without headphones?

We highly recommend the use of headphones for better sound quality. Read More

Do I need a webcam?

A webcam is optional. If you want your language coach to see you, you’ll need one. On the other hand, all of our coaches have webcams, so you will be able to see your coach whether or not you have a webcam. Read More
